Each week Katie and Mel are going to tell you all about the brands they love, for their marketing, for the message they portray...or simply because they have a shopping addiction.

Nicole Warne modelling in her Gary Pepper Vintage clothing for her online store
This week, Mel tells us a little about a brand she loves which was built from a little online vintage store to a personal empire.
1. LOGO
It’s simple, it’s cute and the icon is a bird on a doily which is like a mix of modern and vintage adorableness – and that really represents the brand.
2. HOW WE MET
A friend of mine shared the Gary Pepper Vintage facebook page with me and it was love at first sight – with Nicole Warne, the creator that is. She is this stunning creature who would get vintage clothing and put it on herself, cleverly styled and it would get bid on eBay. My thoughts were that if it wasn’t merchandised so well on such a beautiful girl – the store wouldn’t be as prominent as it is today. The store has now moved on from eBay to it’s own website to buy directly from.
WHY WE ARE STILL TOGETHER
I have not bought much from Gary Pepper Vintage which is interesting because I love all the vintage items and share them with friends, but mainly I love how Nicole Warne has made herself a style icon because of it. Now, more than once a week she does an ‘outfit post’ which is a post of her in a gorgeous outfit, styled and worn by her and usually photographed by a boyfriend or a friend. I keep looking because she keeps providing constant fashion inspiration and she’s always perfect!
FAVOURITE MEMORY
There’s a few. First of all the first time I saw the Gary Pepper Vintage Facebook page and the pictures of Nicole dressed in vintage. She wears the clothes with big lenseless glasses, a bowler hat and sometimes a rose garland. The first time I saw those pictures I was very excited! Next favourite memory is when @garypeppergirl liked my photo on Instagram!
WHY DO I LOVE THEM OVERALL?
Gary Pepper Vintage / Nicole Warne has built a brand from a small vintage online store to a style icon who is now blogging for Harper’s Bazaar and getting invited to the top fashion shows and parties. I love this because it goes to show where you can take blogging and also how one woman can market herself, something I admire and aspire to! She now currently has over 88,000 likers on Facebook and rising – can’t wait to see where this takes her!
