Apart from being the perfect excuse to frock up with friends, this gorgeous event was a night to honour the incredible work of the Our Kids team and inspire us all.
Our Kids
On the weekend I was very excited and honoured to be part of the celebrations at the Our Kids 10th Anniversary Ball held at the Lismore City Hall.
Apart from being the perfect excuse to frock up with friends, this gorgeous event, coordinated by my dear friend Rebekka Battista, Our Kids Fundraising Coordinator, was a night to honour and reflect on the incredible work of the Our Kids team over the past ten years and inspire us all for the future.
Founded in Lismore in 2001 by Dr Chris Ingall, Our Kids began with the purpose to improve the health services for children in the Northern Rivers area. Since then, they have well and truly achieved their goal by raising awareness and vital funds to purchase lifesaving medical equipment for the paediatric wards such as Children’s Ward, Special Care Nursery and Accident and Emergency at Lismore Base Hospital and the surrounding hospitals in the Northern Rivers catchment.
Without this equipment many children and neonates have to be transported to cities to receive vital care that could be delivered in the region with equipment that supports the local medical team.
Since I first met Rebekka at a Stella Network event several years ago and began working with her on the marketing for her restaurant we have become friends, and I am in constant awe of her. She is an inspiration and mentor both professionally and personally.
Her work, and that of the Our Kids team, is nothing short of amazing. Their passion, determination and vision drive them forward. They not only achieve their goals of helping our region’s children and their families but also exceed them. From a marketing perspective their brand is strong, their tactics (calendar, golf days, Dry July and the Winter Ball among others) are integrated and well-executed and therefore highly effective, not to mention fun!
It was an honour to be part of this occasion with so many who have supported this incredible charity and I look forward to many more wonderful moments with friends in support of Our Kids.
